During the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations, a sub-forum themed Sharing Experience on Asian Governance was hosted by the China International Publishing Group, where participants shared their views on topics such as Asian wisdom to promote political advancement, Asian solutions to benefit the people and an Asian community with a share future. The forum takes a close look at the Asian region and at the challenges facing the global community. The primary objective of this forum is to provide an instructional and networking platform for young professional leaders to discuss, debate and challenge conventional interpretations of complex contemporary realities. It provides a unique opportunity for them to confer with high-ranking figures from the political, business and academic communities from around the globe. Though the emphasis is on Asia, there is a fair mix of young leaders from Europe, Americas, Africa, Asia and Australia, from diverse sectors.
Dealing with current issues of governance and government requires a deeper understanding of contemporary policy and governance challenges in different parts of the world. Students will learn to analyse how these regions adapt to often disruptive and transformative economic and political changes. The European integration experience, EU decision-making, and key EU policies are analysed and compared with institutions of regional cooperation in East and Southeast Asia as well as with East Asian approaches to key policy fields such as economic and security issues.
